Eco News

15th Jan 2018

There has been a lot of exciting Eco work going on in school this year. The children from P4-P7 prepared speeches to try and gain a place on our school Eco-Committee. The children all took part in a democratic vote and the committee was created. The first Eco-Committee meeting this term was held on Thursday 11th January where the Committee put in place their targets for this term. So far this year the committee, thanks to the Mid-Ulster council, has acquired 5 small brown food caddies for food waste and a new large brown bin for outside school. Children from P4-P7 have also been involved in created eye-catching labels to place above all light switches to remind ourselves about conserving energy. In the upcoming weeks they will be working hard at labelling all bins in school and educating their classmates on the correct use of the bins. We look forward to more exciting Eco activities in the upcoming months.
