Cycle to School Week
Our Cycle to School Week was a huge success. It was great to see so many taking part. Our Sustrans Champions monitored the number of active journeys made throughout the week and it was amazing to report over half our pupils made active journeys every day. Even the cold and wet weather didn’t put them off, so well done boys and girls. We would love to see the bike shed full of bikes and scooters more often.
Thank you to the champions who assisted Mrs Hawthorne in the planning of a successful week. They helped to organise a competition. The children in Primary 1-3 had a colouring competition and the pupils in Primary 4-7 designed a poster to encourage active travel. Steven Ward was given the difficult task of choosing a winner from each year group and we presented them with a prize in our Sustrans assembly that Alfie, Annabel and Beth delivered wonderfully with Steven on Friday. Steven also showed his appreciation by presenting the champions with a reflective wristband for all their hard work.
We hope everyone enjoyed our first Sustrans event and we have plenty more things planned throughout the year so watch this space. 😉
