Hello Yellow Day in P6&7
To raise awareness for World Mental Health Day, we participated in “Hello Yellow”. We all wore yellow and our activities were themed around the colour yellow and mental health awareness. The theme of yellow is to focus on how we can make the day a little brighter for everyone.
We started the day by colouring pages with positive affirmations. We tried to use lots of yellow in the colouring. After this, we were very excited to decorate cupcakes! Thank you Gavin Hawthorne for providing the buns, they were delicious! We decorated with yellow icing and yellow sprinkles.
After break, we joined P1&2 on a treasure hunt to find yellow things around the school. We had fun using the clues to search for the treasure.
In the afternoon, we made “Hello Yellow” posters on the computers. These focused on how it was important to talk about mental health and raise awareness for how to get support. We finished the day with a craft. We made yellow sun catchers to make our windows a little brighter.
This was such a fun day that I hope everyone enjoyed. Thank you to all the boys and girls for taking part with your yellow outfits!
