As one of our nursery rhymes this week was ‘There was an old woman who lived in a shoe’, P1/2 started to think about what properties some materials have and if they would be good to build a house out of.
Firstly, we looked at some weirdly shaped buildings and then explored different properties of materials such as hard, soft, rough and smooth. We sorted different materials and then became architects in our groups, to create houses out of various materials such as the plastic building blocks, foam shapes, duplo and junk art! Look at some of the wonderful creations!
