P1&2 Trip to Springhill
On Wednesday 7th June P1&2 set off to learn all about the wiggly worm at Springhill House in Moneymore. Fortunately the weather was favourable which allowed the children to take part in a wide range of conservation activities outdoors. They were well looked after and kept busy, as they took turns in all the planned activities, by very knowledgeable staff from the national trust. The children were given little plastic buckets, tweezers, twigs, sticks, nets, magnifying glasses, plastic containers etc as they looked for and handled lots of 'creepy crawlies' and an array of pond life! It never ceases to amaze me how much learning and fun can be achieved from a variety of less expensive items - see photographs enclosed. A huge thanks to all the staff for making the day a wonderful learning experience and one which the children thoroughly enjoyed!
