P3,4 & 5 -Domino's Trip
The Topic our class have been delving into with great enthusiasm this term has been the topic of FOOD. On Thursday 23rd March our class had a wonderful opportunity to visit our local Domino's pizza restaurant in Magherafelt. From start to finish it was a superb trip. We were greeted by Orla and Christina our tour guides. They had us laughing from the time we entered, until we left again. Firstly we got to go inside the chill room where we got to see all the ingredients used within the restaurant. Then the children all got to take orders and process them at the tills and had a competition to see who could create the most expensive pizza. After that there was some excitement in the box store where everyone had to make their own pizza box in record time. After Christina's fun and floury demonstration, everyone scrubbed their hands and got to work, to roll out the dough to create their own pizza base. Some children added tomato sauce and some added BBQ sauce. After all the bases were complete it was topping time.....everything from pepperoni to smelly goat's cheese. When they were all sky high with toppings they were ready for the 240 degrees oven. The smell of them coming out the end of the oven was mouth-watering. The last treat of the day was when Danny the mascot came to say goodbye and gave us all sweets to take home. The smell of pizza on the bus on the way home made the bus driver VERY hungry. We would like to thank Domino's for the invitation and would definitely recommend the restaurant to our families and friends.
