Within our topic of Food we have been learning about the effects of heating and cooling different foods. Today we were looking at heating, and we thought the best food to choose would be a big block of chocolate! The children tried to predict what would happen when it was heated. They took it in turns to break up the chocolate and stir it until it was lovely and silky smooth. The children discussed what was happening and used words such as solid, liquid, melting, temperature, hot, cold and runny. At the end of the lesson there was nothing else for it but to dive into the bowls with yummy marshmallows and popcorn.......Delicious!
