Sustrans' Gold Award
We are proud to announce that Tobermore Primary School have been awarded the Sustrans' Gold Award. After having recently received our Silver Award, we were determined to achieve our Gold Award and we were so pleased to receive the confirmation email this morning to confirm this achievement.
A special mention must go to our Sustrans' Champions who worked closely with Mrs Hawthorne to achieve this award. Both the children and Mrs Hawthorne worked extremely hard to encourage 'Active Travel,' organise events and encourage the community to support this initiative.
Well done to all the children and staff in school who also helped support this wonderful success in Tobermore Primary School.
Laura Coey, Project Support Officer, Schools for Sustrans Northern Ireland commented
'It is clear that active school travel is truly embedded in the culture of Tobermore Primary School, and we would like to commend you for making such a positive difference in the lives of your pupils. We would like to say thank you for all your enthusiasm and commitment to the Active School Travel Programme and for helping the school community to make more active and healthier journeys to school.'
We look forward to welcoming Steven, our Sustrans' officer into school to present our Gold Certificate.
Well done everyone, a very proud school!
