Tobermore Primary School PTA

23rd Sep 2022

Tobermore Primary School has established strong links with parents and has a very active and enthusiastic Parent and Teacher Association. All parents are automatically members of the PTA and the aims of the Association are to promote the school in the community by organising events and to raise funds to support various curricular initiatives and projects.

The PTA meet in the school building when necessary to plan events and the number of meetings can vary depending on the scale/type of the event being planned. With the support of the wider community the PTA has raised lots of money for our school which benefits all children.

In recent years the PTA has bought new playground toys, sports equipment, reading books, iPads, play resources, storage sheds/boxes, outdoor classroom, picnic tables, football nets and funded trips etc.

All parents are welcome to attend meetings.

In the 2021 - 2022 academic year, Tobermore PTA raised in excess of £3000 for our school. This is a vital source of income that ALL our children directly benefit from – if you want to have your say in where this money is allocated to benefit YOUR children – PLEASE GET INVOLVED!!

In September our parents met and elected a committee of 13 with 12 parents and 1 teacher representative and the following post holders to the PTA Committee for 2022/23:

Chairperson: Mrs Lois Kane

Secretary: Mr Keith Quigley

Treasurer: Mrs Claire Moore

If you are a parent/guardian/carer of a child at Tobermore Primary School we would really like you to feel that you have something to contribute to our PTA, no matter how big or small, we don't ask everyone to attend every meeting but it would be ideal if someone from each family could attend to help keep open ideas and communication of up and coming events. This year we will also be in direct contact with parents through our PTA Facebook page and if you would like to be more actively involved in planning and helping out at various events, please speak with any member of the PTA.
