We are delighted to welcome Miss Lamont to Tobermore Primary School. Miss Lamont will be teaching P6 & P7 on Mondays and Tuesdays and P1 & P2 on Wednesdays and Fridays. Annabel and Matthew, from our student council, interviewed Miss Lamont today to find out all about her. Miss Lamont lives just outside Ballymena and graduated from Stranmillis Teacher Training College in June 2023. She has taught in many schools (too many to count) and enjoys teaching Numeracy the most.
Her reason for choosing teaching as a career was because she wanted to have a positive impact on children’s lives and she has certainly done that in Tobermore Primary School already! Her hobbies are singing, playing the piano, walking and she enjoys getting to know people so make sure you introduce yourself to her the next chance you get, she’ll be only too happy to chat! 😉
Her favourite foods are pasta and pizza and she’s partial to salt and vinegar pringles (we’ll have to check under her desk for a hidden stash 😉). Miss Lamont’s favourite animals are dogs, leopards and lions, but you’ll be glad to know she has 2 pet dogs, (much safer than lions), Misty and Molly.
So what would she like if you were to buy her a gift? Not surprisingly her favourite thing would be anything stationery related, note books, pens, highlighters … we’ll all be checking out her pencil case! 😉
